Here is a written message from Pastor Mark:
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

On Sunday, September 19, 2010, Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church voted to join the association, Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC). I am grateful that our congregation received such clarity in setting its course for the future.

But let me tell you what truly excites me. Over the last few weeks I have seen this congregation fill the sanctuary in eager expectation to worship Jesus Christ. I have watched as countless children have come forward to be part of the Children’s Message. I have enjoyed the variety of musical expressions from both early and late services fill the air to the Glory of God. I have participated in welcoming over twenty new members into our church, celebrated in an adult baptism, and watched as new faces join the adult choir. I have recognized new faces willing to serve in leadership positions, teaching roles and serving capacities. Other veteran faces continue to serve with enthusiasm, dedication and faithfulness.

I have smiled as people have enjoyed one another’s company whether at a church picnic, around the coffee pot, or staying late after music practice, laughing and sharing stories. I have been amazed that over twenty people have signed up for the golf scramble with even having a sign-up sheet. I have been overwhelmed at the continued interest in our upcoming ConneXion. I have witnessed hugs and tears and prayers as people comfort one another through difficult times. I have been pleased as the Council has accepted the challenge to support the ministry of Youth For Christ and the youth of our neighborhood.

The list could go on, but needless to say, amidst the challenges and decisions that our congregation has faced over the past year, life is being shared and is abundantly clear at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Stanwood. I am honored to be your pastor and am looking forward to growing deeper in Christ with all of you. May our hearts be open to reach out in love, and may all that we do bring glory and honor to Jesus Christ.

Yours in Christ,
Pastor Mark.

“Grow in the grace and knowledge of our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.
To Him be glory both now and forever. Amen.” II Peter 3:18
