Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church LCMC (Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ) is a thriving church community about one hour north of Seattle, in the friendly town of Stanwood, WA. With its first worship services being held in 1876, it cherishes a rich history and has deep roots in the community, while also actively engaging the new faces and character of a growing Stanwood/Camano Island area. The Stanwood/Camano area has one high school with around 1700 students.
Currently, OSLC holds two worship services, one contemporary and one traditional, each Sunday morning, with total attendance averaging 250. Sunday School is held each Sunday, September through May, with classes for three-year-olds through high school. The two year confirmation program also meets during this time. We have an all-church Wednesday evening gathering called ConneXion which runs from October through May with a couple of breaks for holidays. ConneXion includes dinner, worship, youth ministry, group time, and an adult study series. It is a time to “Connect with others. Connect with God.”
We have a full-time youth director, Lauren Jespersen. We are happy to have her at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church to work with our youth. The Youth Committee spent many months assessing our church and staffing needs. Our youth program has a strong emphasis on Sunday morning and the Wednesday evening ConneXion gatherings. The OSLC middle school program also includes a Confirmation class. Off site activities consist of day trips, retreats, concerts, sports events, and other similar activities. We have a great network of youth workers that meet regularly.
